A minimum of 900 hours of classroom training over a 5-year period. Related classroom instruction consists of a minimum of 900 hours of classroom training over a 5-year period. Classes are held from September through June. Classes for each apprentice class are scheduled one night a week without compensation.

Lessons will include: History and Structure of the IBEW and NECA, first aid, safety, CPR, tools and material, AC-DC theory, fire alarm, motors and control,conduit bending,blueprint reading and much more.

The best part of all...there's no cost for the training!!! Apprentices completing this program have no loans to repay. Plus our program is recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE), and is equivalent to 55 college credit hours

To Become An Apprentice -

The Ithaca JATC provides Electrical Contractors in the Ithaca New York area with skilled and knowledgeable Electricians (Inside Wireman ). We are co-sponsored by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #241 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Southern Tier New York Chapter.

The Electrical Training Alliance has developed uniform standards that are adopted and used nationwide by local programs to select and train thousands of men and women each year. The finest electrical workers in the country receive their training through the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee of National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
